This is a 58 year old gentleman who came to us several years prior to his transplant, concerned about the thinning in his hairline. He’d had 2 previous FUT (strip) surgeries dating back to the late 90s and early 2000s, but he still wasn’t satisfied with the appearance of his hairline. He felt it was thin, overly recessed, and he couldn’t style it upward in the way he wanted.
We gave him some advice about a hair transplant, but it was two years before he finally decided to take the plunge and go ahead with a third transplant, this time a 1500 graft FUE to improve his hairline. His previous FUT (strip) surgeries left him with two uneven scars at the back of his head, and he didn’t want any additional scarring that might be visible.
In this surgery we slightly advanced and restored density to his entire hairline. We also added some density to his temporal hairline on the side to strengthen the appearance of his temporal angles, further reducing the recessed appearance of his hairline. Given that he had not had recession of his temporal hairline in many years, this patient was eligible for temporal hairline improvement.
He returned to see us in follow up and he’s really happy with his hairline, telling us that he’s able to style his hairline upward for the first time in as long as he can remember. We think he looks great, congratulations!
