Patient Story: Restoring a Natural Frame at 72
At 72 years young, this gentleman walked into our hair transplant clinic in Oakville, ready for a change. He had been living with hair loss for over four decades, watching as his hairline receded and the hair at the front of his scalp disappeared. By the time he came to see us, he had reached Norwood stage 6 baldness, with significant thinning across the top of his scalp and only a narrow band of hair remaining at the sides and back.
He shared his goal with us clearly: he wasn’t looking for the hairline of a 20-year-old. He wanted a natural, age-appropriate hair restoration. Something subtle that would bring back the frame to his face and help him look more like the man he remembered. He had never tried medical treatments for hair loss, but he was ready to invest in a permanent solution.
We recommended a 1,500 graft FUE hair transplant to focus on rebuilding his frontal hairline and mid-scalp. Using follicular unit extraction (FUE) allowed us to minimize scarring in the donor area and preserve the flexibility for future haircuts. To help stabilize any ongoing thinning, we also started him on BIOLIGHT laser cap therapy (LLLT) — a convenient, non-invasive treatment to support the health of his existing hair.
When he returned to see us one year after surgery, the transformation was remarkable. His new hairline looked natural and seamless, blending perfectly with his remaining hair. His donor area healed beautifully, maintaining excellent cosmesis. Most importantly, he shared that he felt renewed confidence every time he looked in the mirror.
